Jaguar dealers from across the UK will take delivery of their first Jaguar F-TYPE sports cars at a ceremonial handover event scheduled for this Thursday, April 18^th, 2013. The Ricoh Arena, a landmark in Jaguar’s historic home town of Coventry, will host the event which will see fifty-nine Jaguar dealers from all over the UK collect the keys to their F-TYPE demonstrators before setting off in spectacular convoy along the A444.

The fifty-nine Jaguar F-TYPEs will be arranged in the shape of the letter F in the car park ahead of the handover, while the F-TYPE’s spiritual successor, the last Jaguar E-type ever produced, will not only be on display outside the Ricoh Arena’s north entrance but will also lead the procession out.

Designed and engineered in Coventry, and built at the new home of Jaguar manufacturing in Castle Bromwich, Jaguar’s all-new two-seater sports car is one of the most highly-anticipated cars of the year. Its lightweight all-aluminium architecture, stunning design and finely-tuned driving dynamics combine to ensure the F-TYPE is the ultimate expression of Jaguar sports car DNA. Prices for the Jaguar F-TYPE start at £58,520 for the 340 PS V6 model. The 380hp V6S starts from £67,520 while the 495hp Jaguar F-TYPE V8S is priced at £79,985.

From today onwards they’ll have the opportunity to experience the extraordinary F-TYPE for themselves.”

• The Jaguar F-TYPE was named 2013 World Car Design of the Year at the New York International Auto Show. It was selected ahead of 42 rivals by the 66 World Car of the Year jury members.
• Jaguar global retail sales for Q1 2013 are 20,210, up 31%, while Jaguar Land Rover global retail sales for Q1 2013 are 115,504 up 17 % – a new record.

Jaguar F-TYPE product overview:

•  The F-TYPE is an all-new, front-engined, rear-wheel drive convertible, engineered to deliver pure dynamic driving reward and stunning performance.
• Visually, the F-TYPE’s exterior demonstrates a new sports car design language for Jaguar, with cleaner lines delivered through the discreet use of technology such as deployable spoiler and door handles.
• The F-TYPE’s interior features a driver-focused philosophy, with engaging controls encased in dramatic architecture.
• Three models will be available – F-TYPE, F-TYPE S and the F-TYPE V8 S – powered respectively by Jaguar’s new 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine in 340PS and 380PS outputs and its 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol producing 495PS.
• The range-topping F-TYPE V8S will reach 60mph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 186mph. The 380PS V6 F-TYPE S will reach 60mph in 4.8 seconds and 171mph, the equivalent figures for the F-TYPE are 5.1 seconds and 161mph.
