- Callaway engineers are hard at work developing the company’s latest Supercharged versions of 2014 GM SportTrucks, after receiving their first 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks this past week.
2014 Silverado and Sierra product development, testing and validation will be conducted over the next few months. Supercharged 5.3L and 6.2L models are projected to be available later this year, in every GM-built cab and bed combination. Expect premium performance, quality and value consistent with other Callaway car and truck packages.
Through the application of Callaway’s proven supercharging techniques, Callaway expects to exceed 450 horsepower for the 5.3L configuration and to generate more than 540 horsepower in the 6.2L offering. With the new 5.3L and 6.2L EcoTec3 engines incorporating such technological advances as direct injection and variable valve timing, Callaway engineers now have even greater control of engine operating parameters. These features provide additional tools for improved compatibility with supercharging’s positive manifold pressure, as well as a clearer path for 50-state emissions compliance and extended durability.Wheel, tire, suspension, interior and body upgrade development is well under-way, with these options being made available coincident with Callaway Supercharged SportTruck launches later this year.Callaway Supercharged versions of 2014 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Denali and Escalade are available now, as these models remain largely unchanged for 2014.Other Callaway products in development for GM’s latest truck and SUV offerings include a specific version of their legendary Honker air intake and DD exhaust systems. These products are being made available for the first time as stand alone components, to be installed by the consumer or Authorized Callaway Retailer, on otherwise stock GM trucks and SUVs.
