Among the many advanced technology systems designed to set the all-new Nissan Rogue apart from the competition, one system stands out by not standing out – NissanConnect™. Seamlessly integrated into the everyday driving experience, Rogue’s standard NissanConnect™ connected car services system combines hands-free technology, the owner or passengers’ smartphones and an optional touch-screen display to help connect Rogue to the outside world, whether to custom music libraries, social networks or available navigation, traffic, weather and other information sites. And, as part of Rogue’s affordable technology concept, NissanConnect™ comes with three years of complimentary service for the basic apps package.
“As demand for in-vehicle connectivity systems continues to grow, Nissan is taking the lead in providing affordable, use-friendly technology under the NissanConnect™ banner with critical core vehicles such as the 2014 Nissan Rogue, Altima, Sentra and Versa Note,” said Pierre Loing, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. “We expect more than 1.5 million Nissan vehicles will be connected by 2015, with our cloud-based model allowing for periodic updates and the launch of new apps throughout ownership of the vehicles.”
Along with the basic NissanConnect™ system that comes standard on all 2014 Rogue models, Rogue SV adds NissanConnect™ Apps and its expanded suite of compatible apps – including Facebook, Twitter, iHeartRadio and Pandora. Rogue SL models add standard NissanConnect™ with Navigation (also available as part of the SV Premium Package), which adds a larger 7.0-inch color touch-screen display (versus the standard 5.0-inch display) and SiriusXM Travel Link® (fuel prices, movie times, stock updates, weather, SiriusXM subscription required, sold separately).
“Part of the NissanConnect™ system’s innovative design is the flexibility to introduce new apps throughout the ownership experience, including a range of projected upcoming music, social networking, entertainment and travel apps,” added Loing. “It’s another example of how the all-new Nissan Rogue delivers ‘Innovation that Excites’ – empowering customers to personalize their driving experience. Users are able to “check in” on Facebook to share location with their social network – or navigate to where their friends have checked in. In navigation-equipped vehicles they can also use Google™ to find new restaurants or navigate any city like a local.”
The NissanConnect™ Apps experience isn’t limited to the single owner of the vehicle. Other drivers and passengers can set up their own apps to tailor their in-vehicle experience. For example, Pandora allows users to curate custom mixes for their commutes. iHeartRadio lets users choose from among 1,500+ live terrestrial stations or create custom stations from favorite songs programmed by experts.
All app profiles and settings are personalized and unique to each driver’s phone, so users don’t have to worry about sharing personal account information.
The NissanConnect™ with Navigation system is also packed with a rich range of features and is incredibly easy to use with its 7.0-inch touch-screen, 3D-effect map views, Voice Recognition, and turn-by-turn navigation integrated into the Advanced Drive-Assist™ Display. Other navigation features include speed limit display, eco driving maps, curve warning and split-screen display.
“NissanConnect™ Apps are so intuitive to use – simply download, connect and enjoy. It’s a great addition to the amazing package of features found on the all-new 2014 Rogue,” concluded Loing.
NissanConnect™ is available on a total of nine Nissan vehicles for the 2014 model year: Altima, Frontier, NV200, Rogue, Sentra, Titan, Versa Sedan, Versa Note and Xterra.
