Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition

The Panamera idea has already brought new dynamism into the previously rather complacent high-end vehicle segment. Now, we have provided it with decisive further refinements – as the Panamera Platinum Edition. With sophisticated details and unique design features in Platinum Silver, we have further enhanced the vehicle’s individual style. The Panamera Platinum Edition is available in a number of model versions: as the Panamera, the Panamera 4 with all-wheel drive and the Panamera Diesel.

The Panamera model range reinvigorated an automotive executive class that had long since lost its drive. Combining comfort, sportiness and four seats.

Exterior Design

A sports car for the long haul in the saloon segment. Can this individuality be taken to another level? Good question. Especially as the Panamera is already characterised by a number of distinguishing features – its sports car proportions, its silhouette and its Porsche DNA.

The Panamera Platinum Edition does go further. It has traits that accentuate its individual personality and set it apart from the other members of the Panamera family. Aesthetically, we are referring in particular to selected parts painted in Platinum Silver: the slats on the front end, the side air outlets, the exterior mirror lower trims, the trim strip on the rear and the finned rear diffuser. The side window trims are finished in high-gloss black. Individual details add the sporty finishing touch. The Panamera Platinum Edition is equipped with 19-inch Panamera Turbo wheels. Wheel centres with full-colour Porsche Crest are fitted as standard.

The Panamera Platinum Edition is equipped as standard with Bi-Xenon main headlights. The Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) is available as an option. Its dynamic cornering light function swivels the headlights towards the inside of a bend based on the steering angle and road speed. The static cornering lights activate the auxiliary headlights in order to illuminate more of the road at tight bends and turns. In addition, PDLS adapts light distribution to suit the current speed and visibility conditions. The headlight cleaning system covers are finished in the exterior colour of the vehicle.

ParkAssist (front and rear) is another standard feature. The audible alert is supplemented by a visual warning in Porsche Communication Management (PCM), which shows a graphical representation of the vehicle and the distance from nearby objects.

The Panamera Platinum Edition is available in five exterior colours. A choice of black or white is offered as standard. Basalt Black Metallic, Mahogany Metallic and Carbon Grey Metallic are optional.

In addition, many of the personalisation options for the Panamera model range are also available to the Panamera Platinum Edition.

Interior Design

Often, even contradictions lead to a harmonious whole. That which appears to be paradoxical is disproven by the Panamera interior. It blends the comfort that you should rightfully expect of a saloon with the sporty style that sets a Porsche apart.

The interior is characteristic of a Panamera. It offers space for four and is suitable for everyday use and long journeys, whether the purpose is business or sporty pleasure. Whatever the destination, comfort is assured thanks to individual seats in the front and rear. Another customary feature is the excellent ergonomics. This principle is exemplified by the ascending centre console, which brings controls closer to eye level and reduces the distance that your hand has to travel between the gear lever and sports steering wheel. All the important controls are arranged into logical groups to give you quick access to individual functions without the need to browse through long submenus. The rev counter is located in the middle of the instrument cluster – unusual for a saloon, but not for a Porsche.

Comfort and sportiness. With the Panamera Platinum Edition, we have reconciled these two apparent contradictions in true Porsche style, not least in the interior. The SportDesign steering wheel, for example, is fitted as standard and, in conjunction with Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK, optional for the Panamera and standard in the Panamera 4) or Tiptronic S (standard in the Panamera Diesel), comes equipped with gearshift paddles behind the right- and left-hand spokes. The top centre marking is reminiscent of motorsport.

Identifying features of the Panamera Platinum Edition models include the door sill guards bearing the ‘Platinum Edition’ logo, the two-tone partial leather interior in black and Luxor Beige with matching floor mats and the Porsche Crest embossed on the headrests of all four seats.

A Platinum Edition deserves high-quality materials. The seat squab surfaces, inner backrest surfaces and inner side bolsters, the door handles, door armrests and the centre console are all upholstered in embossed leather.

Smooth-finish leather, natural leather and elegant woods – these and other materials provide considerable scope for personalisation, whether you opt for an ultra sporty or an exquisitely crafted interior.

The Panamera Platinum Edition also offers a variety of storage options, e.g. in the doors and centre console. On request and at no extra cost, you can have two additional fold-out cupholders installed above the glove compartment to supplement the two fitted as standard in the rear.

Pioneering technologies lead the way. Powerful, multifunctional and yet easy to use, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is your control centre for audio, navigation and communication functions and is fitted as standard. The most important component is the 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen with graphical user interface. Alternatively, you can operate PCM using separate rotary pushbutton controls. The DVD-Audio drive plays CDs and audio DVDs and is MP3-compatible. Audio playback of video DVDs is also supported.

A six-disc CD/DVD autochanger integrated into PCM is available on request. In conjunction with the optional universal audio interface (USB), it is possible to store up to 10,000 MP3 files on the internal hard drive for convenient playback.

The sound system in the Panamera Platinum Edition comprises 11 loudspeakers and delivers a total output of 235 watts. The hybrid TV tuner available as an option for PCM receives unencrypted analogue and digital television broadcasts.

A navigation module with high-speed hard drive is included with PCM. For route guidance, it is possible to select between a 2D display and a 3D perspective. In some regions, even buildings can be displayed in 3D as well as terrain with satellite image overlay. Split screen mode enables you to view two functions at once, such as the current navigation map and a list of symbols that represent the next navigation instruction.

The list of comfort features fitted as standard also includes speed-sensitive Power steering Plus for a precise steering response at high speeds and comfortable manoeuvring when parking, automatically dimming exterior and interior mirrors and heated front seats which includes the squab, backrest and side bolsters.
